Welcome to Goult
Situated above the charming ‘Café de la Poste’ in the village’s central square, this apartment is at the heart of village life. The apartment has one bedroom and two living areas as well as a fully equipped kitchen. It is ideal for a couple or small family but sofa beds in the living areas make it possible to sleep up to 5 people.
Goult is situated a 5-10 min drive from the famous hilltop villages Gordes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, Menerbes and Roussillon and 40 kms from Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Paris and the Charles De Gaul airport is about 2 hrs and 40 mins by TGV from the Avignon station. Here you will also be able to pick a car rental to continue your exploration of the region. Marseille Airport is 45 minutes away and Nimes Airport is 1 hr 15mins. Goult is also within easy reach of the French Riviera, the Alps, Italy, and Spain making it an ideal stopping off point. Barcelona is only about 5 hrs away. It is also an ideal base for exploring the nearby historical cities of Arles, Nîmes, Marseille, St.Rémy, Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. You will also find yourself within an hour or so of the renowned wine regions of Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueras as well as in the heart of the Cote de Ventoux region. Within a short drive are the local markets of Apt, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Aix-en-Provence. Coastal towns are within an hour's drive.
The nearest town is Apt which has a large and lively market on Saturdays. Within the village of Goult you can enjoy the friendly atmosphere of the Café de la Poste for a leisurely lunch, excellent coffee and an assortment of delectable deserts and cold drinks. There is also an épicerie (grocery store), two butchers, an excellent bakery and three restaurants, one Michelin starred. At the top of the cobble-stoned village is a windmill and a panorama viewpoint sporting views across the Luberon. The heights of the village are also where you can start a leisurely walk through the natural olive terraces of Goult. This easy stroll takes you past many stone bories (shepherd’s houses) to the iron cross perched high on a cliff top, and provides views of the historic Notre Dame de Lumiere church and the surrounding Luberon.
Local activities include swimming, tennis, walking, cycling, balloon, horseback riding and mountain biking.
